Book Review: An essential book from a master author

Dave Mead should be given some sort of noble prize for his services to guitar players. His books are without exception highly informative, very amusing and written with a genuine love of the instrument. This book on the blues is no exception. The book offers a combination of historical insights into the origins of the music, stuff on rhythmn, harmony and also some backing tracks for you to jam along with. Thus it is a little different to the normal content which tends to just focus on licks and tricks and learning tab in the style of the masters.
Overall this is an absolutely essential book if you are series about the blues, with superb tips on techniques which can't fail to make you a better player. If you use this alongside a more standard work such as 'blues you can use' then you are well on the way to a producing a heavenly sound.
