Book Review: Need more photos!

I'm on a bit of a cupcake-making binge at the moment, and though this book hadn't any reviews, was tempted by 125 recipes in one book!
The book is laid out clearly, with sections dedicated to recipes with spices, nuts, chocolate, children's recipes and adults only (the ones containing alcohol) amongst others. Although the book is American, the metric equivalent of the quantities for each recipe is given alongside the cups.
So far I have made the Chocolate Surprise Cupcakes (as illustrated on the cover) and the Malted Milk Cupcakes. The Chocolate Surprise cakes were light and moist, but really needed double the amount of chocolate. The Malted Milk cakes gave a much denser cake with an overly-crispy top. I also got 18 cakes from the mixture rather than 12. I used the Chocolate Fudge Frosting for both types of cake which is delicious: I usually avoid buttercreams because they taste overly-sweet and sickly, but this is neither, although it needed more liquid added than the recipe stated to become spreadable/pipeable. I think when I used any of the recipes in future, I will use my judgement and tweak them as I think necessary and use them as a guideline rather than be a blind follower.
The one drawback are the lack of photos. Just 12 of the cakes are photographed and the pictures are spread indiscriminately throughout the book so a photo of one type of cake is opposite the recipe for another, though they are captioned.
I think for anyone experienced in baking that wants a bit of inspiration or a recipe as a starting point, this book is a good buy.
