I agree that this is a good technique for knitting socks.And the spiral binding is a definite plus however,Iam not at all happy with how many reported mistakes there are in this book.Fortunatley i must have the 2nd edition with fewer mistakes.mine only has 5 and they are relativley small for the most part according to the publishers corrections.If you want to learn 2 at a time socks i would get the book.If you can make sure it is a 3rd edition i would.I keep hearing that this book doesnt cater well to beginners.Iam a beginner and i agree on that point however,sock knitting isnt really a beginner skill so you cant expect to open a book and know exactly what to do by reading the pattern and looking and the pictures etc.This is a great book for sock knitters looking for a new technique and i would suggest buying it even if you are new like me just plan on also purchasing a step by step instructional video with it so you can learn all the step of sock knitting.I have Nena Galati's video-"Socks I-knitting socks on a circular needle" and "socks II-Knitting 2 socks on a cirular needle".These videos coupled with the book and its patterns should get you through.Iam a very visual learner and i believe many other people are as well.with the mistakes corrected(The author and the publisher should have been more thorough)I would say this book is worth the $16 or so but if your foggy on the details of sock knitting get a video to go w/ it you will save yourself some hair and raw nerves.also,you can never have to many knttng needles can you?I love having a reason to get some more knit picks,lantern moon or signature needles.
