Book Reviews of 40 Weeks +: The Essential Pregnancy Organizer (The Essential Organizers)Book Review: Helpful Reminders Summary: 4 Stars
I received this book as a gift for my first pregnancy but never used it. This time I feel the need to be more organized, do more planning and feel that I am more prepared.
I know that most expectant mothers who purchase pregnancy organizers and journals are first-time mothers. If you are not a first-time parent, don't overlook the value of an planner. I am home with a toddler and my husband travels regularly for business. There is just no way I would be prepared with all my questions and information for appointments without an organizer like this.
Book Review: Hmmm Summary: 3 Stars
This is an okay organizer. It seems a little cold. It's weird to say that about something that should have you warm and fuzzy. When I think of pregnancy thats the sort of feeling I get. I want something warm and cheerful to read. Maybe it's the color that puts me off. It does have some beneficial content for a new mother. The use of blue makes it feel very sterile. Blue is cute on the walls and onsies but for some reason not cool in the book. Then again I tend to love the crisp white or off white pages of books more than colored pages. This will give you lists an little places to put your notes and that sort of stuff. So I suppose it accomplishes it purpose and that is all that should matter to most.
Book Review: It IS the essential organizer!! Summary: 5 Stars
I love this pregnancy organizer, it has everything I was looking for, and more. It feels modern and the information is laid out in a very organized way.
I like how you can write all the details of prenatal visits, keep papers in the little folder at the back, and write questions for your next doctors' visit. There's a 40 week calendar that you can customize, a list of needed baby essentials - clothes, equipment, furniture etc, and a gift tracker, including a chart for returning loaned items. Also, there's a section for tracking feedings, changes, etc once the baby's born. As a first time mom-to-be I find the book very re-assuring.
If you're looking for a journal to write your thoughts and experiences, this may not be the book for you - it has some areas for journaling and pasting a few pictures, but that's not the focus of this book. It's practical, has real information, and keeps everything to do with your pregnancy in one place. I love it!
Book Review: It is the Pregnancy Organizer! Summary: 3 Stars
This book is very very very informative considering I am a 'first-timer'! It has everything you can think of from 'a healthy start' to 'at home with baby'. There are calenders, healthy diet charts, fetal movement charts-the works. If you want a book that has EVERYTHING than this book is for you. It's not a scrap book but more of a data entry type book. It was a little overwhelming at first but I've got it under control now.
Book Review: LOVE IT :-) Summary: 5 Stars
I love this . . . it is very user friendly and has a sleek design w/o a belly or baby on it. I adore being Preggo but didn't need to look at a model's tummy or someone's baby for 40 weeks.
I also like that this item is spiral bond, so items I don't need (like interviewing your OB or Midwife - I had one that I love) I can just rip out. It is slim to hold, but longer than a regular paperbook, so it is akward in a purse (but would fit easliy in a laptop case, etc.) I keep it near my spot on the couch and fill in when I return or have something I think I may want to remember.
This is the 3rd one I have bought, I am very happy with it and glad I returned the others.
