Book Reviews of A Booke of DaysBook Review: Silly Anachronism Summary: 1 StarsThis book is not based on a primary account. It is a fantasy, as evidenced by the many anachronisms (cannons at the port of St Simeon being the most obvious). The most evident thing from reading the book is that it has been poorly researched. The characters bear no resemblance to medieval mentality (remorse at the sacking of Jerusalem? A ridiculous suggestion given the contempory accounts). This is a story which would have been better set in modern times, since it deals with modern issues. What makes reading this book all the more pointless is that genuine first-person accounts are readily available, more informative, and tell a far better story.
