Book Reviews of A Brief History of TimeBook Review: Good science for non-scientists. Summary: 4 StarsEver wonder how the Universe actually works, without having to know too many equations (well, none actually)? Well, this bookyells you. It brings the reader up to date on all the complicated scientific theories concerning BIG things, and doesn't get bogged down with complicated stuff that only scientists need to know. It contains only one equation, and that's only to label a point. An informative, intelligent, and surprisingly easy-to-read synopsis of todays astrophysics.
Book Review: A well condensed and clear guide through complex science! Summary: 5 StarsThere are many layman's books on cosmology and modern scientific theories. Somethimes it can be hard to distinguish truth from misrepresentation. However, one can be sure that hearing these theories 'straight from the horse's mouth (as Hawking is responsible for the development of many of them) that one is being told the truth. He consciously presents his ideas in a non-mathematical way to make the book accesible to anyone. Do not make the mistake of thinking that this is a beginner's book only. I am a student studying theoretical physics and i gained new insight into ideas I thought i understood. A Brief History of Time displays excellently Hawking's natural humour and his brilliant teaching skills. A Brief History of Time is an essential classic.
Book Review: Finally I can understand Summary: 4 StarsThe content is mind bending, the explanations are simple for such complicated issues. I feel that he rambles, and tries too hard to show many sides of the coin at the same time, but without a doubt, the most interesting read I have had for a long time. I would definately recommend it.
Book Review: Excellent Summary: 5 StarsSteven hawking a very intelligent man has wrote this book in a way that you dont necesseraly need to be a rocket scientist to understand it. The book explains the start of the universe, many other wonders like black holes, what the future holds for the universe, and it is a must read for any person who is interested in general theory of things. Hawking also explains other great scientists thinking, like einsteins therory of relativity. The book also has a great summary of words and is a easily navigated book.
Book Review: Read if you understand Physics. Summary: 5 StarsI was disappointed, dazed and confused by the end of book. I was hoping to find detailed (mathematical) illustrations on the theories of time travel and wormholes.Dr.Stephen Hawking has perhaps condensed the complexities of theoratical physics 'de drop.'
