Book Reviews of A Child Is BornBook Review: Excellent Photography! Summary: 5 Stars
I remember seeing this book at the doctors office when I was 7 years old when my mom was pregnant with my brother at the time. she did not want me to look at the book (I guess she didnt want me to ask her questions). I saw this book and remembered the cover and decided that I wanted to own it. The pictures are outstanding and I find myself constantly going to look at the different stages as I am reaching them. I wasn't able to do this with my first daughter(now thirteen) but I am having the pleasure now with this pregnancy. Nice to own and also good to show an older child whats going on inside of mommy.
Book Review: Excellent Pictures Summary: 4 Stars
I am currently expecting and I bought the book because I thought it would provide a realistic view of what is going on inside my body, for my two daughters ages 7 & 9. The pictures in this book are truly amazing. They depict the fetus at each stage of development in real pictures as opposed to drawings. It even has a picture of an actual delivery, which was useful for explaining to my girls the process of delivery. The book is quite informative as well - for adults. A bit too much for children. But I really didn't buy the book for the information. I bought it for the pictures.
Book Review: Excellent book Summary: 5 Stars
This book provides an excellent overview, with pictures, of how the baby develops. An eye-opener for parents to-be. Highly recommended
Book Review: Good book Summary: 4 Stars
I liked the book and the progess of the fetus each week. I like being able to compare my ultrasound photos to the ones in the book. It made the little baby look like a human when you could hold the photos side by side.
The only thing i could have lived without and why I hesitate putting on my coffee table is the photos of child birth...being a first time mother i wasn't exactly excited about how graphic some of the photos were of the actual birth. I don't think my poor husband will want to see some of them. The whole process kind of scares him anyway and seeing 80's photos of women with nothing on shooting a baby out isn't exactly comfortable for him. In a lot of the pictures the woman look in pain and not doing well.
Otherwise love the book. Great photos...i wonder how they took some of them.
Book Review: Great Book Summary: 5 Stars
The pictures and the text in this book are worth it. Watching your child grow and reading about what is going on inside helped me and my wife feel closer to our unborn child. There are come chapters that could have been left out, but otherwise I would recommend this book to any family with a baby in the oven.
