Book Review: A prequel haphazzardly put together for the Justice Series

I was roaming Amazon's site for a lesbian series to occupy my time. I came across this book serving as a prequel, written after the Justice Series, to provide background information on 4 of the characters.
Different plot than what the title of the book might suggest. The plot, I found dry and boring, but that is only because I don't understand physics, computer science, or the modern technology. Reading halfway into most paragraphs, my eyes started to glaze-over, and, I put the book down.
I finished the book because it is technically, the first book in the series. Here is the gest of it:
Beautiful, charming, butchy JT Sloan is hired by gorgeous femme-fastic entrepreneur Michael Lassiter (a married woman) to put up a wirewall to guard her design company's infrastructure and to locate a leak in the company. They hook up (what a surprise). They have sex every-other page after the hook up.
Along for the ride in this techie/boring computer set-up is Sloan's partner in geekdom is Jason McBride, a handsome, possibly Raph Lauren model, who's a cross-dresser. Jason's alter-ego is Jasmine. In love with Jasmine is Sarah Martin. They hook up.
I really don't know why this book rated so high in reviews. Nothing spectacular, just minimally entertaining.
