Book Review: Pretty, but brief and very American
Summary: 3 Stars
I have been looking for a good book on Papillons for some time - unfortunately this isn't it. The book is attractive - well laid out with nice illustrations - and gives a rapid survey of the breed's history and the AKC standard. Beyond that, most of the information is generic to all small dogs - how to find and identify a good breeder, what to feed, basic training, etc, and is all very geared to USA conditions. The three pages on specifically papillon health issues and grooming are useful, but don't go into much detail - I have found papillon enthusiasts on the internet a better source, and there are better books on choosing and raising a puppy and general training. Cute pictures, though!
