Book Reviews of A Princess Primer: A Fairy Godmother's Guide to Being a Princess

Book Review: Delightful book
Summary: 5 Stars

I gave this book to a good friend who became a first time Grandmother of a girl. The book states that it is a handbook for fairy godmothers but that is pretty much the same as a grandmother. Very cute

Book Review: Enchanting!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought two copies of this book as Christmas gifts for my daughter and my niece. It is such an enchanting, fanciful book. Any little girl wanting to be a princess should have this.

Book Review: Fantastic, whimsical, artistic book for pretend Princesses!
Summary: 5 Stars

I would give this book 100 stars if I could! It is an enchanting, whimsical, imaginative, and well thought out fun book that transports a young girl to a land of imagination and fantasy, and is clearly a labor of love. There are jewels encased in the front hardcover, an embossed horse drawn carriage, excellent pictures of ballrooms, princesses and fairy godmothers with actual sample fabrics of their dresses, a palace with pull out windows and gates (flaps), an invitation to the grand ball and the royal wedding, recipes, and so much more to ignite the curiosity and imagination of a role playing, curious young girl. My 5 year old little lady LOVES this interactive book, and spends hours looking at the pictures and opening the interactive flaps. She even asks us questions about the artwork and various depicted scenes. I think some of the bad reviews here are a reflection of some adults taking themselves, and this book much too seriously. The book is fiction for children, not some politically correct tome on being a woman in the 21st century! But I digress.

Book Review: Great Book For Little Girls
Summary: 5 Stars

I first found this book in our local library, but our grandchildren were so enthralled that we purchased it for them. A kindly fairly godmother tells little ones all about princesses and how to become one. Even to showing the curtsy. It takes a princess through her castle, and shows alternate clothing choices and ends with a wedding to of course "Prince Charming". However along the way, the fairly godmother teaches about evil spells and wicked princes to beware of. A fun book which our grandchildren have returned to over and over.

Book Review: Great gift for a little girl
Summary: 5 Stars

My almost-5-year-old niece adores everything princess, so I bought this along with "Fairyology" for her birthday, as well as "Fancy Nancy" and "Pinkalicious." This book is her favorite of all of them. She sits and makes up stories based on the things in the pictures, and tells them to her parents!
I have to agree to some extent with the other reviewer, regarding the "shallowness" of some of the things in the book. I would have loved to see more about learning how to be responsible and a good leader..but it's a bit difficult to work that sort of thing into this type of format. My niece adores the flip-dresses, and the different jewels and things, and let's face it, that's the appeal of the whole princess thing anyway! And at least there are some bits and pieces about manners and politeness.
If you're looking for something fun to entertain your little girl who likes princesses, then this is a great book that can really stimulate some creativity. If you're looking for something to teach life lessons, then you might want to look elsewhere.
