Book Review: A thouroughly enjoyable and informative read
Summary: 5 Stars
This book should be enjoyable to those interested in the mores of Restoration English culture and debauchery in general. The author writes commandingly drawing on a wide range of credible sources that reflect the rise and denise of the "pious debauchee". You will not get a more comprehensive review of Rochester in my humble opinion; it is written from a highly scholarly perspective and is impressive in its wide gamut of sources.
An intelligent and comprehensive work dealing with a highly complex and enigmatic character and time in England's history.
