Book Review: Aging in a New Light

This book was a great story about an unlikely friendship between two women who were at completely different places in their lives. Joan Anderson and Joan Erikson developed an instant friendship during an unlikely encounter and the rest was history.
Erikson, an active, motivated, wise, free spirit, becomes a mentor to Anderson during a time in her life when she needed guidance. It is Erikson's upbeat attitude and bright outlook on life that helps Anderson out of her rut and shows her how to enjoy the little things in life again.
I enjoyed this book because it took a positive approach on the aging process, rather than what is typically portrayed in the media. It is important to remember to make the most of life and to appreciate all of the experiences life has to offer. This book shines new light onto the definition of what true friendship can be. It is an inspirational, sometimes sad book, but certainly well worth the read.
