Book Reviews of A Walk to RememberBook Review: <3 Summary: 4 Stars
This book was so good! I'm not a big crier when I read books but this one i almost did. So touching! I saw the middle and end of the movie and knew I had to get the book! In my opinion the movie might have been a little better because the book was a little slow moving. Other then that this book is a must read for anyone a teen or above. .....love Nicholas Sparks and this is one of my favorites. :)
Book Review: "A Book to Remember" Summary: 4 Stars
If you a looking for a light, relaxing read, look no further! You have definitely found the right book. The best way to describe this novel is compare it to TV. It is the soap opera of the literary world. Anyone who enjoys any of the Oprah Book Club books would take pleasure in this novel. I would also recommend this book to any teenage girl looking to learn a thing or two about love. Although it was overall wonderfully written, I would not recommend this book to someone needing to do any type of book report or analysis. It is too much of a "light read" and does not go in depth enough. Even so, the plot is in many ways both compelling and heart warming. It is easy to get into, and really does touch your heart. It is not too deep nor does it require much thinking. It is by far, the perfect answer to a lazy Sunday afternoon! (Don't forget the tissues!)
Book Review: "A Walk to Remember" Review Summary: 5 Stars
I was very excited for "A Walk to Remember" the movie to come out, but I always love when I read the book and then see the movie so that I can compare them to each other. I began the book on the day that I purchased it, and never put it down after that until I finished it. I loved the book because it seemed like a real story that could actually happen to someone. I loved how the author used specific details for feelings and described the setting so that the reader could feel like they were actually in the story. The characters in the book were mainly high school seniors and they seemed like real people who did activities that young readers could relate to. The ending was very sad and after I finished the book, I anticipated seeing the movie and expected to see something very well done. When I finally went to see the movie, I was disappointed. The movie wasn't as descriptive as the book and left out parts or emotions that I enjoyed in the book. I think that the actors in the movie did a good job to the best of their ability, but some of the scenes were filled with bad acting and cheesiness. It always turns out that the book is always better than the movie. I think that is because a book can allow the reader to imagine the characters any way they would like and interpret their emotions to any extent. In a movie, everything is laid out for the audience and you cannot change any aspect of the film. This book is definitely one of my favorite books and I feel like I can read the book again and again, and still enjoy every word.
Book Review: "A walk to remember" is literature that you will remember Summary: 5 Stars
A Walk to Remember is one of those books that I couldn't put down. I'm not much of a reader, so this book is a fit for anyone. It was easily read and goes straight to your heart. The usage gets a tad redundant at times, but at the same time the message shines through. After you read this book, you will examine your life a little closer and wonder if you touch peoples lives, just like Jamie always did. It was heartwrenchng and sentamental, a must read.
Book Review: "Love begins with a smile, and ends with a tear" Summary: 4 Stars
"Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss, and ends in a tear." This famous quote depicts the lives of the two main characters in A Walk to Remember. While reading this heart-warming novel, I could not help but become overwhelmed with the story itself. The fact that two teenagers could make a connection, which is beyond ordinary society's comprehension, besieged me and showed me that the idea of true love could actually develop between two opposites. Landon Carter was a typical teenager, who was overly concerned about his outside appearance and his reputation among his friends. He was the type of person who would do anything to fulfill others' expectations of what they believed he should be. He lived his life in the shadow of his father, whose main goal was to mold Landon into a younger version of himself. While doing so, he was so self-absorbed that he did not take the time to notice all the wonderful surroundings. Jamie Sullivan was far from a typical teenage girl; she was not disturbed with outside appearances, popularity, or the materialistic world. Instead she thrived on her innermost feelings, emotions, and faith. She came from a very religious family and was very loyal to volunteering at the local orphanage, taking care of her widowed father and helping injured animals. Jamie came across as a quiet content church going girl. Throughout the book, Landon and Jamie display their differences, but when the homecoming dance is only a few weeks away, everything shifts. Landon is left dateless, and Jamie is one the only girls left. He ends up asking her to the dance and she agrees. The two end up hitting it off really well. Through this a close bond begins to form. She begins to change his perspectives on life, helps him though a major decision, and brings out the true beauty within him. This touching novel illustrates the true beauty inside of us all. Landon Carter went out on a limb to ask Jamie Sullivan to the homecoming dance even though she was not his first choice; as a result he found true love. By reading this book and watching the characters change each other over time you will be astonished. It is amazing to watch the beauty of true love grow so pure between two young teenagers who appear as complete opposites. Nicholas Sparks has written another brilliant account of a relationship his readers can relate to. I feel that A Walk to Remember is a remarkable book that everyone can connect with. This breathtaking book is a must read for anyone growing up in today's society.
