Book Reviews of A Walk to RememberBook Review: 17yr old male, what i think... Summary: 4 Stars
Mandy Moore was my first reason i had read this book, i saw the promos for the movie, and knew there was a book. So at 8:00pm on Thursday the 24th of January 2002, i got into my car and drove to the local bookstore. I started reading it right there, i read for 2 hours until the store closed at 10pm. I got through 9 of the 13 chapters. The wrong thing was that i stopped reading, until the next day. It gave me a lot of time to think about what the last 4 chapters were about. It turned out to be predictable, a few things gave it away. So in my opinion it should be read all at one time. Finding out how the story unfolds is the main reason to keep reading. As a guy i liked this book, no doubt. The vocabulary in the book was around 8th or 9th grade, but the simplicity is quite good (written probably for that age group) At first i was smiling a bit, but by the end it did make you sad. I could relate to it at that date thats why it was so appealing. For others it might be more.
Book Review: 1st Book ever that was way worse than the movie Summary: 1 Stars
Once I saw the movie "A Walk To Remember" I fell in love with it. Then a lot of people started reading the book. So I thought that since the book is like 98% of the time better than the movie, I started to read it.The beginning was dull and unconvincing. I thought It might get better. It din't. The book was nothing like the movie and not nearly as good. The main reason that I was appauled by the book is that it is sooooooo unrealistic. Even I could write better than that and I am only 12. Parts of it were hard to follow and parts of it would go on and on about tiny details that were boring or unimportant. did I metion it was so unrealistic. Obviously this writer does not know how real humans interact. right off the bat I should have noticed that this was a GUY writting a ROMANCE novel. It was a pathetic attempt of a love story. I couldn't even finnish the book! I got 2 thirds of the way through and then just said "forget this." This was the 1st book I have ever read that wasn't even close to being as good as the movie. It is ashame that people like me who loved the movie and tried to read the book have to waste their time.
Book Review: A Love Miracle Summary: 5 Stars
This story called A Walk to Remember is a romantic and sad story. It touched my heart and made me cry. This story is about a girl named Jamie who to most people at her school is a geek. The students make fun of her just because she's the reverend's daughter. Suddenly, she is noticed by a boy named Landon Carter who is the most popular kid in school. They fall in love, Jamie gets cancer and things happen that aren't planned. I would recommend this book to anybody and give it five stars because once you start to read this book you can't put it down. -Sarah Wahl
Book Review: A BOOK I WILL NEVER FORGET Summary: 5 Stars
This is the first Sparks' book that I've ever read. I read the book twice in one week. I absolutely loved it, from prologue to the end. Sparks has successfully created characters that we can relate to. The story is very moving. There are pages that made me smile and laugh and pages that made me wanted to cry. I highly recommand this book to everyone whether you are a romantic or not. Can't wait till the movie comes out in early next year or later this year.
Book Review: A BOOK TO REMEMBER Summary: 5 Stars
This is a GREAT book. Being only 2 years younger then Landon in this book(2 years younger then he was at 17, that is), i really connected with him and the kind of guy he was. I think this is a sign of a VERY good writer, and Nicholas Sparks is very good. Landon is a lot like me in some ways and reading this book was very inspiring and a great read. It was a great love story with great characters and great writing. I highly reccomend this book without reservation to anyone, though, regardless of age, usual intrest in romance/love stories, or anything else.
