Book Review: "Running with Scissors Now Makes Sense!"
Summary: 5 Stars
Let me begin by saying that I am a great fan of Augustin Burroughs. He first came to my attention when a Psychologist friend recommended "Running With Scissors" and said "You HAVE to read this book". And so I did, and so I have said to dozens of other friends, "You HAVE to read this book." I feel the same way about "The Wolf At The Table."
This is at times incredibly sad, gloriously giddy, Frightening, Funny and naive. And while you wouldn't necessarily say the book had a "happy ending", it had the right ending because that's how it ended. Augustin (May I call you Augustin?) is a very good writer. The book is compellingly engrossing and I read til four a.m. because I proverbially "couldn't put it down." I had a wolf at my table growing up also and from my first memories of him until I got a call from the Nursing Home that he wouldn't last the night, I had no feelings for him. He was selfish, cruel, and mocking with his children and grandchildren. So Augustin I've been there and done that!
And all you readers out there in the night, trust me when I say, "You HAVE to read this book."
