Book Reviews of AFTER THE NEW AGE: A Novel about Alternative SpiritualitiesBook Review: Exceptional New Age/Spiritual Alternatives Summary: 5 Stars
This is not only an exceptional story about a woman experiencing life and exploring her spiritual options, but a book filled with resources for those who are seeking their own spiritual way.
In this book, Steve has a wonderful way of intertwining a provacative story and also providing a library of information on all things spiritual.
The story of Janet (Jana) and her search for knowledge which covers decades from 1976 to 2006 and societal and religious changes may strike a cord for many of us who recognize how our culture has imposed its values on us. The movement away from structured religions is recognized, and is embraced by those who seek information to resonate the "truth" for them. Steve has opened the door for the reader to explore their own spiritual values and allows us the freedom to explore the religious/spiritual aspects of other cultures. In the final analysis it is no surprise that there are many paths to the same door. It is refreshing to read an open minded approach to the introduction of alternative spiritualities. And a clarification of some misunderstood ideas about alternative thinking.
This is an excellent down to earth story about people dealing with real life events death, loss, understanding and acccepting the differences in others, and the path to spiritual growth.
I enjoyed every page, and will use the information provided in the bibliography as a resource for continuing my education in all things spiritual.
Steve does an amazing job of co-mingling a great story with a wealth of useful informaiton.
