Book Review: Disappointing
Summary: 2 Stars
I'm sorry to say that this book was my most disappointing photography book purchase of last year. The titled intrigued but I was honestly surprised that this book got made. Maybe that's why it was published by a lesser know publisher (and also that the photographer is European based).
I like the format of the book but the print quality (and paper) is really poor, especially the lack of rich vibrant dark tones. I don't know where it was printed but would guess it was not in Germany or Italy. The locations are really great but the photos feel poorly composed/exposed and filled with horrible distortions that really distract.
It feels more like an urban explorer on location with a camera than a photographer doing some urban exploring. I wish the photographer would have scouted for Bascilio or Polidori to be the photographer of these locations instead.
