Book Review: Great Title, So-so Story

Being an enthusiast for all things Alice, I simply had to pick up this book based on the clever title alone.
The title is pretty much the story, though this isn't Carroll's Wonderland but one of Mr Mellick's creation.
The author plainly outlines what the book is about in a short preface, which to my mind is not needed; the theme is summed up in a single quote at the end. I think he suceeded in his aim, but even given how short this story is, it feels oddly padded out, as if episodes were included to bulk out the page count.
Nonetheless, it does capture a certain essence of the Alice stories in its dream logic progression from one series of events to another, even if (as stated) some of these events seem pointless. So, overall quite good, but not as good as expectations set up by that title.
