Book Review: Achieve Your Marathon Performance.

I heard good things about this book from other runners and how it helped them break through to the next level in marathoning and so I decided to give it a try. After following one of the training programs of this book, I'd have to say that this certainly is a great book. It offers good sound advice on training. It's got marathon training schedules for all levels of runners. Since the schedules are laid out for you, it removes the guess work on what kind of training or how much mileage to do. This was particularly helpful during the taper. In the past I would always taper on what I thought was right, but I was always a little unsure if I was doing too much or not enough. With this book, it's all there for you. Just follow the schedules. With the help of this book I was able to achieve run a 2:45 PR during the 2010 New York City Marathon. I highly recommend it.
