Book Review: A self fulfilling prophecy

I'm afraid that this book misses the point. A Campolo and McLaren double feels disjointed, it doesn't flow and you feel like they are both to some extent shackled by the other.
McLaren in his own book 'A New Kind of Christian' is simply superb.
In this book he hardly gets out of second gear. It leaves you feeling that there's so much left unsaid. Sorry, but it was an unsatisfying read.
By all means borrow it and dip into the odd chapter (it's probably more of a dipping in book) but if you really want to get into the emerging church then you can do much better elsewhere.
