Book Reviews of Again to CarthageBook Review: again to carthage Summary: 4 Stars
In "Again to Carthage" Parker pens a fitting sequel to the classic "Once a Runner". The reader is able to see the running lifestyle through more mature eyes and at least partially understand what a seductive mistress running can be. John Parker has taken a long time to offer up another slice of Quenton Cassidy's life, but he's produced a work worthy of your time.

Book Review: for runners Summary: 5 Stars
If you have read Parker's first book "Once a Runner" this is a great follow up. It is one of those, this is how it is books, thirty years later. Great read, with some comic relief thrown in. I loved it.
Book Review: sequel worth reading Summary: 4 Stars
This is a reasonable followup to Parker's cult classic Once a Runner, a book that is rather legendary, particularly among runners from the 1970s/1980s era. There are some flaws, the beginning is a little slow (unless you are into sport fishing), and Parker's prose has not lost its awkwardness over the years. Seriously, try to read some of his paragraphs twice. Nonetheless, it is a highly entertaining novel from the perspective of a runner in his 30s trying to find his direction in life.
Book Review: worthy sequel Summary: 5 Stars
Loved it - the war stories were lost on me and I wanted more running but the end blew me away!
