Book Review: fear in a handful of pheromones

Its not often that a story sends shivers down my spine. A few books and films did, Arkham Asylum's Joker did, but that was for personal reasons I won't go into. No other comic, though.Except that what happened to Jessica did. In spades and with pickaxes.
Bendis shows us here not only how vulernable heroes can be but also how nasty. How casually and deeply evil, and how much thsy can hurt you on the inside. Sticks and stones, a blow from the Hulk, can smash your bones but words can kill you in ways that leave you breathing and wishing you were dead.
What hapened to Jessica does that.
I understand this is the last in the series and Bendis has delivered his masterpiece. There is lot more to the book than horror, there is also hope of the best kind. There is dialogue which cuts and there are images which burn.
Worth reading and savouring at length.
Thank you again Mr Bendis. For bringing a lump to my throat and an icy grip on my heart. Utterly brilliant.
