Book Review: Simply a delight
Summary: 5 Stars
The TV series was stunningly filmed and the narrative was carried by the author's sonorous intonation and love for the subject. I was concerned that the book couldn't match it. What we get in the book is the enthusiasm of the TV program backed up by hard argument. His ideas are fresh and display great integrity.
Much much more than yet another travel guide to the history of ideas, this book has given me enormous pleasure.
