I bought this cookbook in 1977 or 1978 as a penniless Cornell undergraduate and it spawned a lifelong love affair with Indian cuisine. Over the years, the original gradually fell apart through extensive use, eventually reaching the point where it consisted of a sheaf of yellowed and brittle loose pages held together with a rubber band. Today I am ordering a brand new hardcover edition, as an early Christmas present to myself. Thank you Madhur Jaffrey.
