Book Review: A writhing, sodden gothic masterpiece

I bought it, lost my copy half way through, and had to go out and buy another one to finish it. This is no cash-in novel from a bullet headed rock musician. No it ain't. A wonderfully dark, potent, stinking & vibrant story, punctuated by Cave's extraordinary ability to use words which, although you know exactly what they mean, he has patently just made up. The narrative just oozes with atmosphere, rancid, putrid, dank, and steaming. It's just wonderful! What I want to know is why he hasn't written another one?
