Book Reviews of Atlas of Human Anatomy: With Netteranatomy.com (Netter Basic Science)

Book Review: For anyone who appreciates Anatomy...
Summary: 5 Stars

Netter's has become an incredible tool in learning human gross anatomy over the years, and this second edition does a fabulous job of presenting material in a concise, easy to understand fashion. Updated with corrections and the latest terminology (with the old in parentheses), the second edition has illustrations that are wonderful for learning from a purely academic perspective, but that are also beautiful in their own right. I have already taken Gross Anatomy and used the previous edition and other atlases for the bulk of that course. I purchased this new edition for myself out of a need for a good cross reference tool, as well as sheer appreciation for the work that has been put into it. I am also an artist, and I will use Netter's work as a reference and standard for the rest of my life. The only reason I didn't give this a 10 is because I have seen some other atlases squeeze in some helpful clinical information pertaining to the slides, and this one does not. However, Netter's is all that it claims to be; a pleasing, no nonsense atlas that will be a welcome addition to the library of anyone who is a true appreciator of the design of the human body.

Book Review: One of, if not the best, anatomical atlases on the market.
Summary: 5 Stars

Atlas of Human Anatomy by Frank H. Netter is by far one of the most detailed and comprehensive anatomical texts on the market. Full color high quality drawings clearly illustrate almost every aspect of the musculo-skeletal, nervous, visceral and fascial systems of the human body. Whether you are a lay-person and simply curious about human anatomy or are a trained professional in the medical, para-medica, or complimentary healthcare field you will find this text to be truly indespenceable.

Book Review: Netter's is a necessity for any student of medicine
Summary: 5 Stars

Of all the anatomy resources, Netter's is the ultimate combination of elegance, style, and functionality. Frank Netter's artistry is to anatomy what Norman Rockwell's is to Main Street America.

Every gross anatomy lab group should have at least one of these durable books that handle the fomalin spills as good as any and make a difficult subject just a little more "do-able."

While every cadaver has it's eccentricities, Netter's is the standard for what they all should look like and provides mainstream guidance in an area full of variations and subtleties.

Lots of anatomy software is out there and is great, but until they make a laptop that is formalin proof, Netter's is a must. Netter's makes the "highly recommended" list from the physicians and cofounders of medicalstudent.net.
