Book Reviews of Austenland: A NovelBook Review: Fun to read Summary: 4 Stars
The story was fun to read and I could connect with the main characters obsession of Austen's timeless era. The story wasn't exactly what I was expecting, but neverless enjoyable.
Book Review: Fun, Easy, Quick Summary: 4 Stars
This is a great little quick read to brighten your day. It is laugh-out loud darling especially if you are an Austen Fan!
Book Review: Fun, frivolous summer read Summary: 4 Stars
Fans of the current crop of Jane Austen movies, Pride & Prejudice, Pride and Prejudice - The Special Edition (A&E, 1996), Sense & Sensibility (Special Edition) & Emma, will love this light romp of a book. Faced with a string of failed relationships, Jane takes refuge in Colin Firth's Mr. Darcy. When an elderly Aunt leaves her a bequest to actually live as an Austen heroine for 3 weeks, well she takes it as a sign to get it out of her system.
Take this along with you to the pool or beach - it's a short, fast read that is light enough to be able to put down if you are called away but will have you picking it back up the next time you have a few minutes.
Book Review: Fun, fun, fun! Summary: 5 Stars
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It's a must read book for Jane Austen fans. Especially obsessed ones. Um, er, I'm not implying that I'm obsessed mind you. Really I'm not. But anyway, back to the book. I thought this book was very funny. The author has a great sense of humor. The only thing I didn't like about this book is that it was too short. I was sorry to see it end. I rarely reread books, but I look forward to reading this one again. I'll save it for whenever I need a little pick-me-up. I think I'll take a look at some of the other works by this author.
Book Review: Great quick read!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I loved this book and could not put it down. I NEVER have time to read due to work and children, but made time for this book. I finished it in two days, I wish it was longer so I could continue reading it. Just as in Pride and Prejudice, I am kept wondering what happened to the two main characters after the book ended. I won't give anything away, but you will not be diasapointed if you pick this book up.
One problem - she kept referring to Aunt Caroline and in the beginning her name was Aunt Carolyn. Is it bad editing or am I missing a reference to a Jane Austen novel.
