Book Review: A warm and rewarding story

Chris Thayer begins his story just after Thanksgiving as he is about to leave the house that he has shared with his 'husband' Zack Rowan for the last twenty two years. Chris moved in with Zack shortly after Zack lost his wife, and has raised his three children into adulthood. But now his on his own again, and about to rebuild his life.
Chris takes us through the next year or more of his new life. well provided for by his ex-husband, he moves to the coast and a new home, finds new work and new friends; but even if Zack is ready to part from Chris, his children are not, and they remain an essential part of his life.
Back Where He Started is a warm and intimate account, full of love and discovery as the now nearly fifty year old Chris rebuilds his life, redefines himself, finds new love, and at the same time realises how much he is loved by Zack's children, who still regards him as their Mom. It is a most satisfying read, with now nasty surprises, but simply a story of rediscovery as much of the past as of the future.
