Book Review: I Liked It And Wish I Could Find It Again..

This is a story about death. And life. And love. And laughing. It is about the crimes and trials - not to mention the hopes and dreams - of America's national past-time. Here are just a few tidbits.
Pete Rose was a drug user - and in fact, the 1980 Phillies team that won the World Series had more speed in the locker room than on the basepaths. The one drug-free guy, Randy Lerch (a born again Christian) got traded the following year after complaining.
Bo Diaz died when his satellite dish fell on him in Venezuela. This - to me - is ironic since Diaz was a catcher and home plate is called a 'dish.'
Tris Speaker and Ty Cobb conspired to throw a game. Tossed about by scandal, Judge Landis hypocritically 'retired' them instead of banishing them.
Cesar Cedeno was a murderer.
All this and much more. Worth a read - and you can do it in one sitting.
