Book Review: The very first stories of the Batman
Summary: 4 Stars
The Batman Chronicles document Batman's adventures in chronological order. We see his first encounters with Selina (later to become Catwoman), Dr Hugo Strange, Mad Monk and the Joker. We learn that Batman was once engaged to a lady named Julie... not sure what happened to her though.
The 1940s Batman is slightly different to the one we are used to today. The "we don't kill" rule has not been made yet and he is not as dark or brooding. We see the first introduction of Robin, the Boy Wonder (Dick Grayson).
A really good collection of stories, you get the full effect of colour without having to pay for the hard cover (as in the "archives"). I hope they publish the "New Teen Titans Chronicles" too!
