Book Review: Does The Truth Matter?
Summary: 5 Stars

For the few Jackson fans left, I have but one question? Does the truth really matter to you? Laud his performances and music, but his behavior should be condemned whether you believe he is a child molester or not. I'm especially appalled at the few black people who stick up for this lunatic. Michael Jackson has long ago decided he didnt' want to be black and some of you are so desperate for a black icon, you can't see past the plastic surgery and countless nose jobs-- oh that's right he only had two!! A wig wearing, make up happy, skin whitening creep, who disowned his people and tickles the pants of pre-teen and young boys and people want to turn a blinds eye. Diane Dimond never turned a blind eye and from all indications was once a fan too. But as an investigative reporter, she uncovered the truth and you people want to blame her? Get real. Get a life. As she said, Be Careful Who You Love.

Book Review: Bought It Today
Summary: 5 Stars

I love this story. This is great. What can you say, the white boy Jacko is a sorry son of a %$)@. Get this:
Take our Jacko, please!
(Preface: As I begin writing this post, Prince's "Purple Rain" is on the radio... how is it that Michael Jackson is somehow the "king of pop" over Prince, who not only has remained talented but had the top-grossing concert tour last year?)

The Sun UK reports that Wacko Jacko plans to torture an entirely new country with his Neverland ranch:

"... Jacko, 47, has bought two villas and land in Bahrain's exclusive Amwaj islands.

He plans a replacement for his California ranch on the man-made islands, developed as a haven for the very rich.

... The star vowed to quit America for good after being cleared on child sex abuse charges in June. Neverland is on sale for around £70million.

His father Joe said: 'He'll come back to visit but not stay. They didn't treat him right here.'"

Whatever. But the Gulf News is reporting that Jackson is creeping around Dubai:

"Ending the controversy over whether the King of Pop is indeed in Dubai, Michael Jackson turned up in the flesh to give away awards for the world renowned Dubai Desert Rally racing tournament on Monday night. ..."

And he's previously been spotted poking around Dubai malls:

"... Jackson allegedly visited a ladies toilet before taking refuge in Magrudys bookshop when crowds gathered."

But the natives aren't exactly pleased:

"... Jackson's offbeat personality seems to be a turn-off for many UAE residents since in a Gulf News online poll yesterday 47.4 per cent said they didn't want him moving to the country.

A mere 34.3 per cent would like him to set up home here while 18.3 per cent did not care either way.

... Jackson was first seen in Dubai at the end of August when he enjoyed a meal at the Hard Rock Café and visited the offices of developer Nakheel. He went for a trip to see The World and The Palm projects and this sparked speculation he was looking to buy a place here.

More recently, Jackson was reportedly in Ibn Battuta shopping mall - wearing an abaya and a traditional woman's headscarf."

Sounds like he's trying to, er, fit in...

But someone, just take him, please. Bahrain, UAE ... hell, even Syria. The United States will be eternally grateful for your trouble.

Book Review: Diane Didn't Disappoint
Summary: 5 Stars

As most of you have probably already heard, Michael Jackson was acquitted of all charges today, much to the surprise of pundits and prosecutors. Apparently the accuser's mother was just too opportunistic and unconvincing for jurors to accept, and the rest of the case just fell down like dominos. If she wasn't credible then the conspiracy claims fall apart, and her sons testimony looks suspect as well, and the rest of the case was mostly rumor and innuendo.

Of course, one of the great strengths of our legal system is that Jackson was protected by the principle of 'reasonable doubt'. He might well not be innocent, but the prosecution didn't present a strong enough case to prove it to the satisfaction of a jury, so he gets the benefit of the doubt. And it has to have been some major doubt, because everything about Jackson cries out for punishment in the eyes of most normal, rational Americans who might find their way onto a jury. We should all be thankful for this, because it means that no matter what we do, there's always a chance that fate and a jury of our peers will give us the benefit of the doubt too.

Free though he may be in the eyes of the law, Jackson still faces the merciless judgement of the court of public opinion. In the eyes of most people he still remains the freak which he has chosen to make himself through his pursuit of self-gratification through an alternative lifestyle which few of us can begin to comprehend. He faces financial problems, public suspicion, and a career which is likely to have been destroyed by the combination of his negative reputation and his apparent loss of whatever muse made his early work palatable. He still has considerable assets and will likely be selling some of them off in the near future to pay his lawyers.

The future for Michael Jackson problably won't be as grim as some people would like it to be, but it won't be a tale of glorious redemption and an amazing comeback either. He may have some fanatical supporters, but the public is mostly just tired of him. It will take a lot more than a favorable verdict to reverse the general impression of Jackson as an out of control freak whose behavior is so bizarre it makes almost any charge brought against him believable to a good portion of the population. In his rise to the title of 'King of Pop' he manufactured an image of excess which benefited him when publicity was his friend, but which has turned around to bite him in the ass now that he's on the way down.

Jackson may be free under the law, but he's never really going to be free. He's going to be a prisoner of the press and of legal and public suspicion, trapped on Neverland Ranch, with nowhere to go and nothing much to do except ride his rides and play with his monkey until his life reaches some sad and ironic conclusion in a few years. Pity the freak, because we're the public which fed his lust for notoriety and encouraged his craving for self-indulgence. We told him it was okay to be a freak for our amusement and now we profit from his example that sometimes the price of fame is just too high to pay.

Oh and by the way, whoever said Stacy Brown was fired at MSNBC is totally wrong. Mr. Brown still works for them; just call there as I did. So I guess there is no pink slip for him only blue checks each week from MSNBC. And the person who wrote that must be white because Jackson is white and hates black folks. Poor misguided soul.
