Book Review: A Caricature of Doggy Social Interactions

Cesar Milan is a TV celebrity, not a serious source for training information. His views on pack hierarchies are completely outdated and harmful.
Dog packs are more accurately termed families - with the leaders being the parents. There is no unnecessary aggression or "alpha rolls". The best way to stop bad behavior is to make it rewarding to be good. "If you keep pulling we are not going anywhere" "You don't get your food until you sit" ...
Cesar likes to scare dogs into submission, and this is harmful in many ways. It does not make the dog respect you (did you respect the school bully?) It can cause anxiety in dogs. This causes further misbehavior and therefore more aggressive corrections.
Aggressive corrections teach the dog to be aggressive leading to more aggressive corrections. Someone needs to be the adult in this situations, and your dogs is about as smart as a three year old, so it better be you.
Try a book by Karen Pryor, Ian Dunbar, Emma Parsons, Leslie McDevitt or Patricia McConnell instead.
