Book Reviews of Beach (UK Edition)Book Review: Cracking cheese, Gromit ! Summary: 4 StarsNo further comment.....Read it and review it... go on !
Book Review: a compelling but somewhat sensational rollercoaster Summary: 3 StarsA whirlwind mix of Lord of the Flies, Heart of Darkness and Apocalypse Now all thrown into one giddy headrush of a novel. Lacks the depth and elegance of the Conrad masterpiece but extremely compelling and racy. A perfect book for poolside afternoons at your four star hotel, reminding you of how different things could be had you not chosen Thomas Cook Travel !!
Book Review: Brilliant debut Summary: 5 StarsGarland's descriptive writing is superb.. reading his book really makes me feel as if I'm down in South East Asia again.
Book Review: Dream to nightmare journey! Summary: 5 StarsI read this book within the space of about 24 hours. I tried to put off the ending but the tension just kept rising and I couldn't put it down. This book takes about 100 pages to get you hooked but by then you are hypnotised into the same kind of stoned state the main character is in. I recommend this to all X-generationers as with references to the A-team and the Waltons it hits all the right spots. Oh by the way the setting and characters are magnificent.
Book Review: Don't plan anything for 48 hours! Summary: 5 StarsIf you are going to read this (and you should), don't plan to do anything else. You will be completely wrapped up in it, unable to do anything else or communicate with anyone. Read it and enjoy!
