Book Review: Nice Christmas Story

My 7 yo read this to me today. The book is about a bear that normally sleeps through Christmas and his friends, who try to keep him awake one year so he can experience it. It's a lovely story, written with a pleasing cadence. The illustrations, especially the cover, were fantastic. It was beautifully presented and would make a nice stocking stuffer for a child.

This is a wonderful little book in rhyme for early readers. Bear is helped by his friends Gopher, Badger, Mole, Raven, Hare, and Wren to stay awake for Christmas. It's full of positive messages- friends helping, Bear making presents for his friends, and Bear succeeding to stay awake to share Christmas with his friends. The illustrations are beautifully done and it's short enough to keep the attention of young readers. What a delight- my 6-year-old grandson, who proudly reads his book of short poems from school to any who will listen, will love reading this to his 2-year-old brother!Book Review: Great Art, Cute Story

Bear Stays Up For Christmas is a cute little book. the artwork is amazing, and my children agree. it was the best part of the book. It is worth purchasing The Bear Stays Up For Christmas for the art alone.
The story is about a bear, and his friends, and their adventure one Christmas eve night. The rhyming is so-so, and at times doesn't flow as well as other kid's books, but that doesn't take away from the book's cuteness factor.
This would make a perfect gift for younger children. I know we'll be reading it over and over again.
Book Review: Our first Bear and our favorite

I read this to my daughter at any time of year. It was also the first way she ever identified Santa by answering the question of who's in the background. This isn't just a holiday classic, it IS a classic. Rhyming stories are shown to help children learn to read at an earlier age, so I often look for books with that criteria in mind but don't always find a story that is enjoyable or that isn't kind of cheesy. This book and all of the Bear books by Karma Wilson are worth buying, reading, and keeping.Book Review: Another Great "Family" Book About Bear

My daughter and I love "Bear Snores On" so this one was a no brainer. As the weather turns colder, this is the perfect gift to start talking about the holidays, to get our spirit in gear. This book is the perfect way to start!
Bear is lucky to have his friends to celebrate with. They refuse to let him spend the holiday alone, even if he would be sleeping through it. They get him up and out, find a tree, string some popcorn and decorate. They sing songs, sit by the fire and hang stockings.
Teach your kids the importance of family and friends with this book. Show them that presents shouldn't be the main focus but people should be. This book is a great way to also show that people you love are your family, too.
I love this book and will enjoy it for years to come, maybe even on Christmas eve.
