Book Review: A Great Book For All Ages (Even Grown Ups!)

Because of Winn-Dixie is a really good book. It is about a gil named Opal and her dog she got at a supermarket. The dog's name is Winn-Dixie. They find new friends for Opal and even have a party with them. Her mom went away went she was little, and when her dad and Opal moved, her dad became a preacher. In this book, you will see how the preacher changes from shy hinding turtle to regular dad.
Some of the charaters are Miss Franny Block, who owned a libery since she as a kid, Gloria Dump, who is nearly blind and has to rely on her heart to see people, and Otis, who owns a pet shop and Opal helps Otis clean.
Because of Winn-Dixie is really good. I recommand for kids and grown ups of all ages. (About 8 and above) The author gives an ode to dogs and acts a realistic fiction story. She makes the reader want to read the book and keep reading it over and over and over. I couldn't stop reading it! I hope you will like this book as much as I did. Thank you for Review: A Great Book!

Book Review: A Great Dog Tale!
Summary: 4 Stars
This is an excellent example of Realistic fiction for children. This book is not your typical "dog story." Kate Dicamillo takes the reader beyond the normal sad dog story. The reader gets into the life of Opal and begins cheering for her and her hopes and dreams. I believe this is one of the best books written for this age because the theme is universal, we all need to learn not to give up regardless of our age. The book is about a young girl who finds a dog and the trials that together they then go through. I definitely like this book better than other dog stories such as Shiloh, Sounder and Old Yeller. They are well written books but Dicamillo takes the reader in a different direction with Because of Winn Dixie and I strongly recommend it.
