Book Review: An interesting read
Summary: 4 Stars
A look at Beethoven's life and works in words and in music, as there are two CD's that come with the book so the reader is able to follow the development of Beethoven's music. Its a little light weight for the scholar, but a good introduction to Beethoven that others that found Thayer, Soloman and Cooper a little heavy. Lots of examples of Beethoven correspondence too. A well written, presented book, but much is missed. As an introduction to Beethoven I would recommend the Suchet books along side this. A useful addition to my Beethoven collection!
