Book Reviews of Behind the Smile: My Jurney Out of Postpartum Depression

Book Review: Entertainnig & Informative, but not really an Autobiography.
Summary: 4 Stars

If you suffer from PPD or any type of depression, then this book is very good for you! Marie Osmond shares her experiences with PPD and the effects and origions of her personal 'tragedy'. BUT, if you think this is an indepth autobiography of her life, you will be a little disappointed. Although she does talk about her past life, she does not go into 'details' or 'full recounts' of her life story. She talks openly, but yet still remains a little reserved to protect her privacy. She recounts bits and pieces of her past life and experiences but not in the order of any regular autobiography.

All in all, this book is still informative and entertaining and a very good read, espeically if you are a Marie Osmond fan.

Book Review: you will laugh and cry- and be surprised too.
Summary: 5 Stars

Marie's book made me laugh and cry. My heart went out to her over the problems she has experienced over the years. Many of us must have thought what a perfect life she has, but like so many of us that sometimes give others that impression, we all sometimes hide "Behind the smile". This book is very touching and full of good encouraging advice for people that have had or are experiencing similar problems to Marie. How Marie has managed to juggle a full career and seven children is incredible, but one of the things that comes across in the book is that if we stop and listen to our inner voice and stop ignoring it we would have a happier life. Trying to please others all the time and suppressing our pain can manifest it self in so many ways. Marie has learn't so many lessons through her depression and shares them with the reader. Her good sense of humour and anecdotes are very funny to read. I hope she now has time to spend with her adorable children and family and I thank her for being so frank in her book and helping others who may be experiencing similar problems to her. You will not be disappointed by anything in this book. once you start reading it you won't want to put it down.
