I try not to buy books that I can easily check out at the library. This one, however, spent so much time at my house I figured I should get my own. For my needs, this was the perfect entry into the world of simpler housekeeping, skin care supplies etc., and a good reference to have on hand. It does indeed repeat information in various sections, but there's the question over how to organize a book such as this - do you list all the things baking soda can do in one place? Or do you go by topic area in housekeeping etc. and mention baking soda every time it applies? The author chose the latter, which I find helpful, as I can't read through lists of every wonder vinegar can perform when I'm just trying to figure out how to clean the tub. Look up tub stains instead, and you'll find what works for those!
I appreciate the breadth of information in here - even if I don't have a garden right now, nor will I be painting with milk paint anytime soon, it's nice to have all the topics covered in ONE book. If you like to keep things simple, I recommend this book. For further study on essential oils, say, or more detail on how to make specific lotions, you can always visit your local library...
