Book Reviews of Bigfoot: I Not Dead

Book Review: Bigfoot: I R-rated
Summary: 5 Stars

Love this off-the-wall book...Bought it for my daughter-in-law who has a sophisticated, zaney sense of humor....Just need to warn her to supervise the book's access to the grandchillin....definitely R rated.

Book Review: Bigfoot:I Not Good!
Summary: 2 Stars

I was open to the Bigfoot concept and open to a humorous approch ...but found this book disappointing on a couple levels.....first, the book content is weak with a poor narative and a 3rd grader's attempt at humor...second, the illustrations are as weak as the book's content.

Book Review: Entertaining
Summary: 3 Stars

I read Me Write Book: It Bigfoot Memoir first and it was so so so so so so so so terribly funny. I Not Dead is entertaining, but the jokes seem repeated and the story isn't as tight. This book would be totally acceptable to someone who hasn't read Me Write Book, but it's a disappointment to me as someone who has read Me Write Book and was looking forward to something fresher and funnier. The illustrations are just as fantastic though.

Book Review: Hilarious
Summary: 5 Stars

The extremely childish, yet violent illustrations are worth the price of the book alone. It made me laugh yet tugged at my heart at the same time. Bigfoot has problems just like you and me! He's simple, yet sophisticated. The whole thing is charming (in a twisted way).

Note: though the illustrations look like they're for a children's book, this is definitely NOT a children's book. If it had a movie rating, it would be R rated, just so you know.

Book Review: Hilarious book, great for a gift.
Summary: 5 Stars

I found this at B&N while looking for a gift for a friend. It's basically Bigfoot's diary if he suffered from social anxiety. The drawing style helps with the humor, but the writing with intentionally bad grammar is the best part of the book. I haven't read anything else by Roumieu, but if this is what his other books are like, I'll make sure to pick them up.
