Book Review: *Do* Androids Dream??
Summary: 4 Stars
I found P.K Dick's "Do Androids Dream" (the actual title of the pre-film book) to be an excellent and invigorating story. While I am usually a skeptic of the science fiction genre, this book really shattered my misconceptions of futuristic writing due to its unique plot and thought-provoking outcome. I was particularly interested in the way he developed psychological analysis as a means for recognizing and distinguishing humanity from machine. Today, the Do Androids Dream setting seemed not-too-distant, which leaves you feeling a bit chilled after finishing the novel. My only qualm was with the opening chapters-- the story did not really make any sense for me until 50 or so pages in.
