sensitive, inclusive and bang up to date-an attractive book with copious illustrations and well-spaced text. A refreshing review of art that has caused offence to religious- and humanist-fundamental beliefs that should appeal to the general reader and the academic (that is, not too steeped in aesthetic/philosophical jargon). The author is I understand, a university professor in art criticism and religious studies in the USA.
