Book Reviews of Blender Baby Food: Over 125 Recipes for Healthy Homemade Meals

Book Review: DANGEROUS RECIPES
Summary: 2 Stars

Though this book has some interesting recipes, the author clearly knows very little about infant nutrition. Many of the recipes called for citrus and honey along with a few other foods that are NOT to be given to children under the age of 1 under any circumstances. If you plan on purchasing this book make sure you know all of the rules to making homemade baby food inside and out so that you can omit the recipes that are unacceptable.

Book Review: Easy and practical
Summary: 4 Stars

I tried a number of recipes in the book and found them easy to do. The information about the ingredients was very helpful. The appearance of the text was very clear and this is a higly accessible book.
Strongly recommended.

Book Review: Easy to follow
Summary: 5 Stars

We've enjoyed this book - our daughter loves all of the new types of fruits and veggies she's trying. We fed store brands for the first few weeks and it was so boring. Recipes are easy to follow and they provide good little tips.

Book Review: Easy to use~
Summary: 5 Stars

I am a first time mom and a first born. I want details and instructions to work from!

While some might find the details in this book common sense, I love to have exact measurements and formulas. Once you are comfortable with the process you can mix and match your own recipes...the possibilities are endless.

For those of you who may think making food takes too much time, just incorporate this into your normal cooking times. For example, if I am boiling or baking for dinner, then I can easily peel a couple of sweet potatoes and throw them on the stove to boil at the same time.

The book has helped our family save money on baby food from the store (I do buy a couple of jars for eating on the go). AND because it's so much more affordable to make baby food I feel like I can splurge on organic veggies for my little man.

You can do it and this book is a great resource!

Book Review: Essential baby book. A must-have for your recipe collection
Summary: 5 Stars

I absolutely love this book and have recommended it to many of my friends who have babies. The recipes are quick and easy. You can make two or three at a time and freeze them. I liked taking one day a week and making a couple of recipes from this book while I was making dinner. It was only a little bit more work and I was cooking anyway. The recipes always make plenty and it gave me a lot of variety each day for feeding choices. The foods that you prepare yourself, just look and most significantly smell better than anything you can get out of a jar. Best of all, you know exactly what is in it.

I've been able to introduce my son to so many foods from this book. Some of the more unusual ones for babies are leeks, tilapia, and swiss chard. Just try getting any of these in a jar. Usually your choices for vegetables from a jar are carrots, green beans, peas, sweet potato, maybe corn, and maybe squash if you can find it. With this book, you can combine some really interesting vegetables with chicken or turkey and all the flavors blend nicely together and smell fantastic.

Now that my son is over 2, I'm finding myself pulling this book off the shelf again. When he doesn't feel well, he just wants some soft easy-to-eat food. He hasn't been eating as many vegetables lately, so I'm going to blend up a few recipes from this book until he starts feeling better. I'll get some food in his tummy and know he is getting some good vitamins too to help him feel better.

My mom said to me once, "When I get old and have trouble chewing, could you make me some of these recipes? They really taste great." I think that says it all.
