Book Review: Our Soulmate Is The One Who Makes Life Come To Life. -Richard Bach
Summary: 5 Stars

Haven Travis is surrounded by powerful men; her dad and her brothers. All her life she has struggled to find her niche in the Travis family and more often than not, what Haven wants and chooses, ends up singling her out, or causing a rift.

Such is the case when Haven marries who her family warns her is the wrong man. Two years later, tail between her legs, Haven comes back to the family after that marriage ends. Coming home with more emotional and physical scars than one woman should carry, she struggles, once again, to find her niche in the Travis family. All that looks to be shaky again when she finds herself falling for Hardy Cates, the Travis family enemy number one.

Haven is a heroine you can really admire and cheer for. She makes some mistakes, owns up to her share and does what she can to better herself. She doesn't make excuses and goes for what she wants. She is a smart and determined young woman that even after getting her spirit stomped on, lifts her chin and keeps on keeping on. I adored her.

Falling for Hardy Cates in Sugar Daddy, I was thrilled to see him matched up with Haven. We finally get some insight into what makes Hardy tick and Lisa Kleypas makes him even more delicious and desirable than he was in the previous book. Considering his appeal broke the loveability scales for this reader, I didn't think it would be possible to like him more, I was wrong.

The exciting sequel to Sugar Daddy did not disappoint at all. I flew through both books this past weekend and was treated two very well rounded and different tales about fabulous characters. There are some frightening and very emotionally challenging moments in this book; a few parts had me holding my breath in shock and shedding some tears. But there was also a lot of humor and the chemistry that smoldered between Hardy and Haven and the witty repartee they treated us to made it all worth while.

This book has easily shot up the ranks to one of my all time favorite reads and it is one I will revisit again and again. Enjoy!

Book Review: Read in 3 hours!
Summary: 5 Stars

What a well written story. When I absolutely forget everything I should be doing (cooking dinner, folding clothes) and I simply keep turning the pages...well that one is a keeper. LK writes in a such a way, that you experience all the main character, Haven, feels. This is not only a great romance with a male lead character that is sexy and believable, but a well written story that made me sorry get to the end. I am a fan of LK historicals, but this one, my first contemporary read of hers, is FABULOUS also. Read and enjoy!

Book Review: Read it in a day!
Summary: 5 Stars

I loved this one by Lisa Kleypas as much as it's prequel, Sugar Daddy! It was emotional and drew me in from the start. I loved finding out Hardy's happy ending and love him as a hero. He's the kind of guy we all hope to find, but not in an overblown, fake hero kind of way. This book felt totally realistic to me and although it made Haven a victim, she was a strong one. I could understand her plight and it felt so real to me. Another winner from one of my favorite authors.

Book Review: Sequel to SUGAR DADDY
Summary: 2 Stars

BLUE-EYED DEVIL picks up almost exactly where SUGAR DADDY left off, which I'd read last year. I fell in love with the author, the writing style, and the love story of Gage and Liberty who in BLUE-EYED DEVIL have a son. All is well in their world and now it's time for Hardy. This is a character I loved and was tickled pink he'd fine love at last. I would have enjoyed it too, but the book totally fell apart.

Kleypas's slant on abuse added realism, while educating the public. Some readers might find this fascinating. Since I read almost as much nonfiction as fiction, I don't feel a need for a lesson with my fiction.

Prior to BLUE-EYED DEVIL, I'd formed an emotional attachment to Hardy. It was the book's lack of realism in other areas that caused me to lose that connection. Things like Vanessa, Hardy, and Haven at The Harrisburg. The dialog for the whole scene was off. Haven accepting to help Hardy by giving her opinion about his new apartment design wasn't believable. Then there was the elevator scene. I didn't believe the wall could collapse or the dialog. Bottom line, the dialog was too off for me to enjoy.

Although the characters were well defined, the dialog was lacking. Another negative was the first part of the book. It was a wasteland, totally barren. On the plus side, the plot was interesting. If more realism had been added along with good dialog, the book would have been rock-on solid.

Please know that I am a minority in my views of this book. Everyone else I have spoken to didn't feel as cheated. In fact, some have voted it the best book of the year. So take my opinion as just that, an opinion and by some, a bad one.

Book Review: Simply Wonderful
Summary: 5 Stars

I could not get enough of this book, it was so romantic, i could not put it down until i ran the whole book in one sitting. i cannot wait for another book of hers to come out. I hope this time she writes about Jack.
