Book Reviews of Boldtext Pew Bible: King James VersionBook Review: For the Beginner or the Theologian Summary: 5 StarsChoosing a accurate translation is important. For Spiritual Reading I prefer the King James but for more precise study the NRSV is preferred and the NIV a close second to NRSV. There are many translations but these are the top contenders. This particular Kindle version of KJB w/Apocrypha is quite enjoyable. Prior to this selection I have purchased others but have deleted them in favor of this newest option. It includes more than just the text but offers compassionate help sections and easy links to the appropriate Scripture. As a standalone Bible it surpasses plain text versions for reasons earlier cited. It would be nice to have a concordance-commentary but I recommend purchasing Smith's Bible Dictionary and use it as your Primary Kindle reference when reading the Bible. If somehow Strong's Concordance could be linked to the text would make it a perfect study set.

Book Review: greatest group of books ever read or written Summary: 5 Starsgreatest group of books ever read or written. yes it is a group of books written by separate authors, in different languages, differnt countries and even in different times. To the people that say it is disjointed or contradictory, try rewriting a story from another time, another countryd and in another language and see how it turns out But is inspired by the one and only true God. As far as His Only Son Jesus Christ is concerned: He must have done something right because satan is still trying to discredit Him. Praise God and Amen.
Book Review: Amazon Needs to Learn Better Description Techniques Summary: 5 StarsThe Bible is simply the greatest book ever written, as it is God's Word. So much for my review of the book's contents. If you can grow up in American culture and not have a clue what this book is about, I feel sorry for you.
The point of customer reviews of Bibles on Amazon's website should revolve more around the unique features of a particular edition of the Bible, as there are literally thousands of editions out there to choose from. Unfortunately, the folks at Amazon have some real problems distinguishing between different editions of a book (and often mix reviews of different edtions of the same book together on a single page), making shopping here quite difficult at times.
I will then make it clear that my review is of the King James Bible having the ISBN 0-8340-0346-5. Amazon describes this edition as unabridged, but it is not. Unless you're buying the Reader's Digest edition of the Bible, how often do you come across an abridged edition? Not too often, I would warrant.
I was led to believe that the "unabridged" description here meant that this edition contained the apocrypha, as the apocrypha was originally a part of the King James Bible--and is usually missing from most editions of the King James published in the last 200 years.
Sadly, I was misled. This edition lacks the apocrypha. Now I must continue my quest to find a decent edition of the King James which does contain the apocrypha. I'm not expecting much help from the product descriptions here at Amazon.
Book Review: Harry Potter was better Summary: 1 StarsAs a novel, this was a bit of a disappointment. each of the little sections is more disjointed and unrelated than each of the books in the Redwall series. taken on their own each little section is a pretty good short story. the author took too long building up to the main plot, which just ended almost directly after the climax. there are so many subplots that are unrelated and even contradictory to each other i almost dont know which to listen to. its almost as if it were written by hundreds of different people that never met. thats no way to write a coherent work of fiction
poor plot
poor character development
cant sympathize eith the main character (this "god" guy just doesnt seem approachable
too unrealistic
if ur looking for a fantasy novel id go for harry potter, or Ted Dekker's the circle trilogy
1/5 stars for this one
sorry (whoever the author(s) is/are
