Book Reviews of Bravo Two Zero: The Harrowing True Story of a Special Forces Patrol Behind the Lines in IraqBook Review: mainly good fiction! Summary: 1 Stars
Yes, a lot of the book is based on fact but Mc Nab makes himself out to be a rambo for the sake of a good read! 250 iraqis killed, eh? Neat fiction.I'm amazed so many people are gullible enough to believe the guy. Read, 'The real bravo two zero' for an unbiased, accurate account of the mission if you're interested. Personaly,I think the author does his former regiment a massive disservice, and sullies the name of those who died, in order to make himself into some kind of 'hero.'Funny how the 'heroics' in his book aren't included in his offical debrief. The man is a joke among the SAS.How can the guy get away with it!? Don't waste your money!
Book Review: mental toughness triumphs through adversity. Summary: 4 Stars
life or death making decisions are accepted by precious few, the physical demands of 'selection' are merely a yard stick for what might be required. when put to the test it is usually the efforts of a few who make great strides possible for many. refreshingly well written without too much hindsight figured into good or bad decisions made at the time.
Book Review: pretty good, but... Summary: 4 Stars
Bravo Two Zero was an excellent book for all SAS fans. The book is about Sgt. Andy McNabb's struggle through a mission that has gone totally wrong. A good portion of the book is non-stop action, but the book can also get really boring. When half of Andy's squad is separated by fighting Iragi units, things really start to heat up. This book is a must read for Spec-Ops wannabes. Still, Black Hawk Down was much better than Bravo Two Zero.
Book Review: somebody knight these guys Summary: 5 Stars
Great book. Hey Tony B! Knight these guys! Isn't that what you Britons do over there?
Book Review: war novel of epic proportion Summary: 5 Stars
Bravo Two Zero is a epic story of a group of men's fight for survival during the desert storm operations. Eight men from the British SAS (special forces)are dropped into the "scud alley" without there equipment working and their only chance of survival is a long treacherous journey to cross the border. Bravo Two Zero is a hard book to get intrested in if you don't like war stories with the typical blood, gore, and vulgar language. But overall, the book is excellent, and i higly reccomend it to anyone who enjoys war stories.
