Lisa Slater has identified the important dimensions of brownies: oozy, crispy, crunchy, fudgy, soft, aromatic, etc., and devised recipes to take those standards to voluptuous extremes. She also offers general tips and brownie-related cooking/baking techniques.
I've just made her Brownie Blobs. A life-changing instant favorite! Picture a double-chocolate chip cookie in drag as a brownie. Worth the price of the book. Now I'm planning to try Brownie Bran Muffins. There's also Brownie Bread, a yeast bread with a suggested grilled cheese option using queso fresco, and a Chocolate French Toast recipe in case your brownie bread lasts long enough to get stale.
