Book Reviews of Captain's Fury (Codex Alera, Book 4)Book Review: very pleased Summary: 4 Starshave been waiting for a while for book to come out and your service was excellent and I received it in great time for xmas
Book Review: Great Furies! He did it again! Summary: 5 StarsOMG! Jim Butcher did not disappoint me with his most recent installment on the Codex Alera series. Once again you'll be caught up in the maelstrom of Tavi's world, you'll feel his every emotion as he confronts each challenge, and you'll be cheering him on (and getting goose bumps!) at the book's climactic end...so don't speed-read if you can help it. MR. BUTCHER, YOU BETTER BE WORKING ON BOOK 5!!!
Jim Butcher is definitely one of my favorite authors. His storytelling is smart, imaginative, fast-paced, and his characterization is brilliant. Although the "Fury series" (as I refer to them) is surprisingly different from The Dresden Files (which I also thoroughly enjoyed..who doesn't love Harry?!), Butcher's indelible wit shines through. Special thanks to my brother Mike, who introduced me to this awesomely gifted writer.
Book Review: Jim Butcher does it again! Summary: 5 StarsHe is quickly becoming one of my all time favorite writers! I loved the Dresden series (even before the short lived TV show) so I picked up the Codex Alera series. They could not be more different in subject, but definitely no less in quality and entertainment. I can't read them fast enough. These books stand up against any epic fantasy series I have ever read in depth of characters, pace, or story telling. I can't say enough about this series or anything written by Jim Butcher except if you haven't read his books - what are you waiting for?! You won't be disappointed.
Book Review: WOW!!! I Could not Put this Book down!!! Summary: 5 StarsJim Butcher has written another great book. I have been a big Harry Dresden fan for a while but I think that the Codex Alera series is even better. In my opinion Captain's Fury is a transition book. I do not want to spoil the story but it takes places two years after book 3. We learn about Tavi's childhood and why he did not have furies of his own.
I had a hard time putting this book down. I wanted to get through the story and now that I am finished I wish I had the next book to read. Enjoy this book and don't rush through. I enjoyed it so much I may read it again.
These books could make great movies.
Book Review: A Great Read! Summary: 5 StarsA Great Read that I will be re-reading and re-reading until the Book 5 of Codex Alera comes out. This installment of Tavi's adventures is truly fast-paced and surprising. I do not want to give away any twists so that the readers can enjoy the book themselves. Remember to control yourselves and savour each page as you battle through with Tavi. It is very tempting to just whiz through the book to get to the end; however, it is extremely more gratifying to have patience, and to witness the war in Alera slowly unfold in this fantastic book.
