Book Reviews of Cardcaptor Sakura 1Book Review: Cardcaptor Rocks! Summary: 5 Stars
Cardcaptor Sakura was my very first anime show, and I thought that was great! But this manga is even better! The art by Clamp is amazing (as usual) and the story is well-planned. In this book, I enjoyed the last chapter the best. It was the most serious, but I enjoyed the light-heartedness that ran througout the book. The only problem was that they changed the names (why change Yukito to Yuki and Touya to Toya? What's the use?) and some of the story was lost in the translation. But unless you know how to read japanese or where to get the original manga and a translation for it, this manga is an absolute must!
Book Review: Cardcaptor Sakura Summary: 5 Stars
For some of you people out there who have only seen the show called "cardcaptors"(the edited versian of Cardcaptor Sakura) this is a must buy. This is a realy good way to here the real story of cardcaptor sakura and is cheeper then the movies of the animated cardcaptor sakura tv series which have subtitles. (NOTE: the animated versian of cardcaptor Sakura has one extra character named Meilin (Meiling)that the book does not)Cardcaptor sakura is about a girl who finds a book full of Magical cards in her fathers library but accidentally lets them free to do mischief. after the cards escape a cute creature named Keroberos comes out of the book and tells Sakura she has to recapture the cards. Cardcaptor Sakura is full of adventure and VERY VERY VERY cute pictures. if you like the show cardcaptors you will like Cardcaptor sakura. (NOTE: Cardcaptor Sakura is the original Japanese versian of cardcaptors so some of the characters will have diferent names and slightly different personalities. for example in cardcaptors Sakura's best friend is named Madison Taylor but in Cardcaptor Sakura Sakura's best friend is named Tomoyo Daidouji and she is realy obsessed with Sakura and has a slight crush on her(dont worry if that turns you off to the book it is only a slight hint of a crush so you should still buy it.) )
Book Review: Cardcaptor Sakura Summary: 3 Stars
Despite the cute charecters, somewhat entertaining storyline, and amazing artwork, I think you'll find that this series is mildly innappropriate. I discovered that upon reading the second book. There was one cussword, and some elements that some parents may not approve of. I know mine didn't. I'm getting ready to try the Tokyo Mew Mew manga books, and hopefully those will be more for kids then Cardcaptor Sakura, and above all, Sailor Moon.
Book Review: Cardcaptor Sakura is very, very sweet. Summary: 5 Stars
Cardcaptor Sakura is about the life and adventures of Sakura Kinomoto, a spunky 4th grader who loves Gym and hates Math. Her life changes one day when she was looking through her father's library in the basement. She stumbles upon a mysterious book called 'The Clow', and accidentally releases the mystical Clow cards into the world. After being woken up from a long nap, Kerberos, the guardian beast of the seal, discovers that Sakura has set the Clow Cards free. He tells Sakura that they must be returned to the book, otherwise "a disaster will occur". So, Sakura now has the duty of collecting the magical Clow Cards; not-so-ordinary cards with the power of wind, time, flight, and more, powerful cards indeed. Sakura has long nights, collecting these cards, and even her dreams are filled with card captures. Such is the life of a Cardcaptor, but Sakura gets by with a little help from her best friends, Tomoyo (who loves to tape Sakura's adventures on camera) and Kero (her gluttonous little sidekick)! I loved this manga so much, I was giggling and smiling the whole time I read it.
