Book Review: A tragic twist in time.
Summary: 5 Stars
Catch 1782 is a story that plays upon the web of time.
The Doctor and Mel visit her uncle in 2003 at a formal event, but when Mel finds herself dragged into the past the Doctor and her uncle have to decide how to find and rescue her without effecting the course of established events.
Woven inside this plot is a subplot of a lonely man who is is suffering from the loss of a loved one and the dear young girl who he discovers to take away his pain. This is so well written and acted that you find yourself taken by the tragedy of the situation.
I think if you wanted to introduce your wife to the audios this would be an excellent place to start as it has a Jane Austinish feel to it.
An aside this this was the last of the Colin Baker episodes begining with The Condemned (Doctor Who) that I picked up. It completed my collection of Bakers in the regular set (not including any new episodes after Patient Zero (Doctor Who).
They seems to have a larger variety of range within the episodes and also the largest range of quality from what I've seen. I suspect if given more time in the TV series he would be much more popular than he is.
