Book Reviews of Celine Dion Miracle: A Celebration of New Life

Book Review: Perfect Pregnancy Gift
Summary: 5 Stars

The pictures and the voice are so beautiful that it is really inspirational for anyone who is expecting. It will put any mom in a postive frame of mind about having a new baby in her life.

Book Review: these poor babies
Summary: 1 Stars

the pictures are appaling. all the babies are "painted" and curled up. the babies actually seem to be in pain as they probably are. the knees are curled to their chin. why anne geddes or celine dion would participate in holding these tiny babies into these obviously forced curled up positions is beyond me. the babies are coiled up in every picture, it seems like each picture was taken to increase the number of pages of the book and not to express art or show children. babies are naturally beautiful, why curl them up and paint their heads green?

Book Review: Peaceful Tenderness!
Summary: 5 Stars

I have seen the mother's of these babies crying in the making of this book because the photo's were so beautiful and tender. If you think this book is baby abuse then you obiviously have never had a baby. If you did, then you would know that babies cry when they are hurt or uncomfortable. A baby is so peaceful while sleeping, shame on you for thinking otherwise. This CD is so precious it brought tears to my eyes, and I am not even a big Celine fan. Then again I am a mother to a beautiful baby boy so I am the perfect customer for this book. It's just wonderful!

Book Review: A beautiful rendition of the miracle of life
Summary: 5 Stars

Geddes has put together a beautiful collection of photographs accompanied by the music of Celine Dion. The creativity used in photographing these angelic faces of the babies in various different computer generated poses are often captivating, although also sometimes a bit odd.

My previous review on this was removed. The reason, I felt this book celebrates life. That is, it is a pro-life stance and celebration of life. I do wonder how some could look at these tiny faces and decide that being able to end thier lives at a whim is a morally acceptable practice.

The songs are typical Celine - good melodies and harmonies but as always a bit sappy too. I really have no idea what the intent of this project is, although I will say it is well done.

Book Review: The Miracle of Miracle
Summary: 5 Stars

I never bought Anne Geddes' books before, but I always thought her photography was innovative and unprecedented. When I first heard that my favourite singer C?line Dion would start working on a project with Anne Geddes I was not sure what to expect. I don't think any of her fans did. In the meantime I decided to look at some of the previous Geddes books to get the idea but I still couldn't figure out how the whole Dion/Geddes collaboration was supposed to come together.

Then when the book was released I was stunned by the incredible photography. C?line is present in the book, but she rather gives the images a more powerful force than outshining those beautiful newborn babies, which I was afraid of would happen. It underlines again Geddes' artistic talent as a photographer to be able to show us C?line Dion, known as the celebrity and the powerful engergetic singer, as C?line Dion the mother and the strong, beautiful and caring person she is.

The book comes with a CD with new songs all about the miracle of life and children. Produced by David Foster the songs are pure and sincere. C?line's voice never sounded better. And the variety of the songs really surprised me!! C?line's rendition of "Beautiful Boy" originally by John Lennon gives C?line once again another sound.

Then there's the DVD that also comes with the book which gives us a beautiful insight in the making of the book and confirms that, like some people like to claim, are NOT abused but very tenderly and lovingly taking care of by Anne, C?line and their parents. You'll see that the baby's are placed on soft foamed shapes to resemble the shape of the flowers they are later digitally placed in! Everybody claiming those babies are abused should be ashamed of themselves and take their words back! They obviously don't know what they are talking about!
